A large part of Ircon Ltd.'s industrial work has been for mining and metallurgy. For the Krumovgrad Gold Project, a greenfield open-pit mine with a complete processing plant, the company developed the civil and structural, architectural, roads, earthworks, fire safety and health and safety design. The work at the Ada Tepe mine included a 16.5-metre reinforced-earth wall designed to carry heavy mining vehicles, and the engineering analysis and design of an ore stockpile up to 60 metres high.
For KCM in Plovdiv, Ircon Ltd. was the leading engineer of a new environmentally friendly lead production plant, and the lead engineer of a covered storage building for lead raw materials with dust control, built as a reconstruction within the existing industrial site.

In the energy sector, Ircon Ltd. engineered the steel supporting structure of a 250 t/h low-emission boiler at Deven, and designed structural steelwork and platework for the TeesREP biomass power station in the United Kingdom. For power plants in Kent and Cramlington in the United Kingdom, Maria Gleta in Benin and Kayes in Mali, it designed foundations, concrete works and steel structures as part of international design teams. At Cramlington, its design followed the Eurocodes with the British National Annexes.

Ircon Ltd. was the leading designer of the Baumit dry-mortar plant in Elin Pelin across every discipline, from process engineering to health and safety, and engineered the façade of Baumit's plant in Yambol. Recent work for manufacturers includes facilities for Liebherr and Schneider Electric in Plovdiv, M+S Hydraulic in Kazanlak and Ficosota in Shumen, as well as pharmaceutical factories for Teva Bulgaria and Sting Pharma Solutions.

Much industrial work takes place on existing sites. The concentrate storage at KCM was built as a reconstruction within an existing industrial site, and at Solvay Sodi structural surveys and assessments supported the maintenance and reconstruction of steel and reinforced-concrete structures. In such conditions the existing structures, equipment and routes must be surveyed precisely and the new work planned around them. This is where a 3D model of the existing conditions proves its value.
