Groundbreaking ceremony for expansion of copper cathode production at the Aurubis Bulgaria plant

We are happy to share that on April 25, 2024 the symbolic groundbreaking ceremony was laid for the expansion of cathode copper production at the “Aurubis Bulgaria” AD plant near Zlatitsa and Pirdop, part of Aurubis AG.

It marks the start of the construction of a large-scale investment project, which amounts to about BGN 800 million. The venture includes two new solar parks and an expansion of the cathode copper refinery production capacity.

We are proud that two years ago “Ircon & Partners” was chosen by “Aurubis Bulgaria” as the Chief Designer of the expansion of electrolytic production of cathode copper.

Within these two years, our team developed technical and working designs for the new extension and assisted the Assignor in obtaining the relevant approvals.

Our participation in the construction site supervising process is forthcoming.
