First Gold Concentrate in Krumovgrad

We are proud to announce that Dundee Precious Metals already produced its first gold concentrate in Krumovgrad. Although they still have work to do to obtain the final rump-up, this is a great success for the whole team involved in the project. Ircon Ltd. is involved in Krumovgrad Gold Project from the end of 2012. Since then the project went through several design alterations, permitting and about two years of construction. The aim of the design was to achieve a balance between CAPEX and Safety & Reliability and to deliver an “Environmental Friendly and Operatively Efficient” plant.

Throughout the construction phase the following items part of Ircon Ltd.’s SOW were successfully completed:

– Close to 1 000 000m3 of earthworks turned from excavated material to engineering facilities and roads. This includes Rom Pad for ore storing and Rom Haul road with huge embankments with more than 60 meters in height sections.

– Reinforced Earth Retaining wall 16 meters in height. This is the highest retaining wall in mining industry in Bulgaria.

– Reinforced concrete structures – close to 8 000m3

– Close to 3 000 tons of steel structures which are forming the Process plant. It comprises of 10 buildings (supporting and maintaining the process equipment), the support structures for 5 belt conveyors (the longest is 170 meters) and other engineering facilities.
